As CMPunk posted, there is a fair bit of documented evidence for the fairly dramatic changes that Marcoux implemented while Lack was in Carolina.
This was posted by ReinhartonD in another thread. It is an interview with Kevin Woodley, from
InGoal from magazine before the Lack trade, and he comes across quite strongly with what was wrong with Lack's game in Carolina. You really ought to listen to it.
