In case you aren't in the US politics thread (and quite frankly, if I weren't a moderator, I wouldn't open it myself) - the US has put in place a new electronics ban. Passengers flying to and from any of over a dozen countries will not be able to have most electronics with them in the cabin at all.

This will also apparently affect any flights that stop over in Canada, such a Royal Jordanian flight to Detroit that stops in YUL.
