We had some birds nesting in our bathroom vent. The wife and daughter thought it was pretty "cute" until it started to stink up the house.

On top of the poop, they don't all live...know what I am say'in.

I waited till all the birds had left the nest. Then I got up on a ladder with a shop vac and various implements and cleaned it all out. Then I did what NEZ did, made a wire mesh cover and put it over the vent. Hasn't been a problem since.

Other houses in the neighbourhood though, they either don't know or don't care...but every year there are birds in in their vents.

I can lend you a ladder if that's your biggest obstacle to getting them out.
