From what I can see you can click the little X at the top right of the ad and opt not to see that specific ad, and from there you can set some preferences too (though I haven't tried setting the preferences yet).
EDIT: And my favorite so far is the one where I thought it was going to be an ad for Joseph Stalin but ended up being for blood donation.
