The grass part is true, but very solvable by 2026. As for capacities of stadiums, it's good point, but I don't think the CSA forgot about this when deciding to pursue the 2026 event.

Lots can happen, infrastructure-wise, between now and 2026. It's unlikely, but far, far from impossible.
