Intel - Macbook Pro, Core 2 duo 2.4 GHz with 4GB of RAM. There is a noticeable difference when the video acceleration is enabled, but it's still playable without it. I imagine it wouldn't be so great on the standard Macbook, but iMacs should be fine.
I first ran Civ 4 when it came out on a PC with 2 GB of RAM and a budget gamer card. It was horrendous till I got more ram and a better video card. I can't imagine trying to run Civ 4 on anything based on the PowerPC architecture .
