VR tech will always be limited unless it somehow interacts with the human brain. How do you replicate complex combinations of smells caused by open spaces? the feeling of wind? The taste of whiskey?
Assuming you were able to get to a point where you could make graphics and sound indiscernible from reality, that's only 2 senses of 5.
