Flyfishing is casting, and knowing where to find the fish.
[Edit - an important part of casting is also knowing how to mend your line so you are getting a drag-free drift]
I agree with Slava - take a half-day or full-day course through a fly shop, learning how to cast.
After that, I would not spend a lot on expensive equipment. You don't need a fancy rod and reel, waders etc to catch trout in small streams. When it is warm, I just wear shorts and sandals. Don't let the flyshop try and sell you a bunch of expensive equipment. Trout don't know the difference.
