League Details: - The commissioner of the league will be Lawrick Chang (lox888 - Buffalo Sabres from last year's league).
- 30 gms
- We will be encouraging all members to sign up for a CP account (the more CP'ers the better).
- That said, CP membership will not be an exclusive requirement. As the year goes on may recruit from elsewhere to fill teams should members drop out mid-season (as they always do).
Registration: - League registration is currently open
- First 30 GMs will be accepted
- To sign up add your Xbox 360 ID and a mode of communication (Text+, Cell phone number for text or join the facebook group).
- There will be a wait list for teams once 30 spots have been filled
Rosters and Team Selection: - The rosters will be randomized when the league has started and no one will know ahead of time who is on what team.
- You can pick what team you want (i.e. what jerseys you'll use) when you post your Xbox tag and contact info.
Gameplay Settings: - Skill Level - All-Star
- Play Style - Normal
- Period Length - 7 Minutes
- Overtime (continuous with loser point)
Schedule: - Regular season will be based on a two-week schedule, which advances every week in reality. The commissioner will inform participants of the next advance by posting on the facebook page.
- Short periods (i.e. where the in-game period is shorter than two weeks and thus contains fewer games) may be advanced sooner, which will be stated.
- Year 1 schedule is based on the official schedule of the NHL for the 2013/14 season.
- This is not a sim league - users are required to play their games. However, if in a particular game period you are unable to play (i.e. you're out of town or can't be available when your opponent is), you will be required to switch to CPU and the other player will play your CPU team.
- Games that are not completed when the week advances will be simulated.
- By default, your team has to be set to CPU play.
- GMs may play against their opponents CPU if they have tried to make contact (via calgarypuck and by whatever other method the member has provided) with the opposing GM and it is after 7 PM MST the day before the advance.
Playoffs: - Playoff series number of games will be best of 5
- Overtime games in the playoffs will be continuous overtime
Transactions: - All transactions involving major pieces (a player over 83 OVR or a prospect of 4.5* potential or higher) must be announced on Facebook. I'll also try to post the details on Calgarypuck.
- NO trading with any CPU GM. All such trades will be vetoed.
- All transactions (trades, signings, waivers, etc.) are pending on commissioner's approval.
- The commissioner will take into account views of other league members but has autonomy as to whether a trade is reasonable approved.
- Transactions will be reviewed every advance.
Communication: - Methods of communication: Text+, CalgaryPuck, Xbox360, Facebook and by text message.
- The main mode of communication will be via Facebook. Members are strongly encouraged to join the facebook group regardless of whether they have provided a Text+ or cell phone number.
