I've never been able to taste the spinach at all. It's the easiest green to mask in a smoothie, especially with bananas. If you can still taste the slightly "earthy" undertones of the spinach, I'd recommend agave nectar or a bit of honey. A squeeze of lime helps as well. Frozen spinach seems to impart more of a spinach-y taste than fresh. I also like the combination of kale and strawberries; it's completely undetectable and the drink doesn't turn green. Honestly it was the color that always got me. Beets or blueberries keeps the drink a manageable purple. Texture has never been an issue for me.
