Helicopter parenting = hovering over your kids, controlling their lives, and never giving them any independence. How does that correlate to wanting speed limits enforced in residential areas? I want speeding deterred so that I can let my kids have independence and not be a helicopter parent. But I have a tough time letting them walk around the neighbourhood by themselves when every 15 minutes or so I hear a car with no muffler and likely driven by a 28-year-old with poor self-control blasting down the curving road in front of my house doing 60k.
Also, kids aren't the only people who walk around communities. You should get out of your car some time and look around.
