Interesting. I wonder if you could get Engelland for ~$2MM/season. I agree that you have essentially $5-$7MM to allocate on the 4 through 7 spots. Assuming two rookies on cheap ELC's that leaves you $5.5MM for the #4 & #5 spots. I think Stone and Engelland could be had for that combined.
But there's also interesting free agents out there, like Karl Alzner, for example.
Would you pay more for Alzner, at the risk of a weaker bottom pairing, or pay to have Stone + a proven 5-6 dman?
