This past weekend, on the way to see the eclipse, we have spent a day at Yellowstone National Park. I can't say it is more beautiful than our Banff, Jasper or Yoho parks, which are much more majestic and scenic. But is is definitely very interesting. The most famous attractions over there are the Old Faithful Geyser erupting every 90 minutes almost on the clock and Grand Prismatic Hot Spring Pool. I was not overly impressed by the geyser it really looks just like a big fountain surrounded by tourists...
The Grand Prismatic, on the other hand is weird and magnificent. The colours and patterns of the rock formations affected by the sulfur and other chemicals in the groundwater are something out of this world.

here. Not all of them are sharp; that's due to the steam coming from the pools all the time and blowing into the camera lenses periodically.
