I had a weird issue in one laptop where I put in an SSD. SSDs are sometimes a sliver too thin to replace other 2.5" drives and I had to put in a plastic gift card on top of my SSD to get it to seat tightly in the laptop without coming loose from the connector and thusly not working when I put the cover back on.
