An early sunrise wouldn't really be an issue in this case because I believe the proposal is to move to CST which would effectively be like keeping MDT all year round. Though it would mean 9:30 am sunrises in December (closer to 10:00 am up in Edmonton). Over 3 months out of the year would have sunrises later than the current latest one (about 8:40am) that occurs on the winter solstice. On the plus side the sun wouldn't set until at least 5:30pm all year
