^ I would recommend going with someone who has some gear and can show you how to do things and get you going. I wouldn't go buy everything and then go from there because that is going to cost you a ton of money.
If you're inclined I know that Fish Tales runs beginners fly fishing lessons and could teach you all about fly fishing and how to cast and things like that. I would recommend them as they're a good shop in general (not particularly cheap however).
