Hmmm, the math doesn't seem to add up.

Let's say you have a 220v connection in your home (same as a dryer) and what can you run through those? 15-20 amps?

So the total ammount of power you could run through that would be
220v * 20 amps = 4400 watts of power or about 5.8 Hp
So you'd only be able to get about 5.8 HP out of your car for a total of 5 minutes (assuming 100% efficiency), wich seems unlikely to get you anywhere near 500 miles from your house.

I don't think I've made any wild assumptions, and it doesn't look promising, but maybe I'm missing something, like they're talking about using a super efficient ultra light, really slow car like the ones that win the ultra milage competitions held by universites, but if that's the case, the how practical is that? Not very.
