Regardless of the coach or players on the roster the Flames seem to be perennial slow starters since the 2004 lockout and you can argue the Oilers cemented their spot ahead of the Flames in the regular season based on the opening two games alone last season. Would be nice to open up on an eastern road trip or something as if the Flames are going to come out of the gates slow I would prefer they give up free points to teams that aren't in the division if possible.

Or it'd be nicer if management made their roster decisions earlier in the preseason so the team could have a few games to gel. I'm pretty sure we were running all new lines and pairings to start the season, and then we were all confused why the team was playing with no composure.
