I get that some of this is cutting the cord of course, but those are some ugly looking numbers. I wonder if the fact these guys are all buddy buddy and not true rivals like say Tiger and Phil is hurting things. |
I doubt it, you likely nailed it with the first guess, Sports are getting hammered in ratings because of cord cutting, and it's really picked up steam this season.
If you're looking for a side reason that's actually golf related it's not likely the friendliness as much as no one is really stepping up and dominating for a long time. Each new young guy is being billed a dominator with unlimited potential after a championship or three and then they fall back a bit to rest of the pack.
