The options are...

Sign a three year ELC that starts immediately, burning the first year of the contract, and join the Flames for the rest of the season.
Sign a three year ELC that starts next season and join the Heat for the rest of the season on an ATO.
Finish his school year and sign a three year ELC that starts next season sometime this summer.
Return for his senior year and sign a two year ELC next year, either with the Flames or wait until mid-August 2018 and sign with anyone.

My guess (based on nothing) is that he'll sign but not burn a year and join the Heat for their playoff push.
