Schenn's pts/60 is 2.62 #29 in the league. Monahan's is 2.44 for #54. Backlund 2.09 for 125th.

Schenn is a lat closer to Monahan than he is to Backlund.

He gave up 2 yeas of UFA.

Sort of breaks out like 4, 4, 6 , 6.15

If Monahan signs a 6 year deal he will be giving up 2 years of UFA.

The equivalent deal for Monahan would be 4,4,4,4,6.5, 6.5 29 for 6 years.

Pretty certain that Monahan will be getting a lot more.

Just using this to show that it is GREAT signing by the Flyers.
Schenn played with Giroux and Simmonds. And when on the PP with Giroux, Simmonds and Voracek. Usually he was the least effective of his linemates (not to say he was bad, but he was the third wheel). This contributed to a career year as a 24 year old, significantly outproducing his previous years.

Schenn is 24, has 354 games played and 84 goals.

Monahan is 21, has 237 games played and 80 goals.

These aren't comparable players at this stage in their careers. At all.
