In a not-so-surprising move, the Blues have decided to move on from Dman Dion Phaneuf after acquiring both Ryan Suter and Ryan McDonough this off-season in a trade with the Tampa Bay Lightning

Clearing out the salary Phaneuf was due proved to be important in order to retain a number of other RFA and UFA players on the Blues roster.

The Blues had to include draft picks a log with Phaneuf in order to move him to the Lightning.

To St. Louis:
Xavier Ouellette
3rd round pick

To TB:
Dion Phaneuf
2nd round pick
3rd round pick
