A friend of mine's Father is retiring, someone who put up with a lot of #### from me and the boys growing up as this was often the party house on account of the pool. I'd like to get him a gift for his retirement party, he loves to BBQ and spends a lot of time entertaining in his back yard which they put a ton of work into so I was thinking somewhere in that area.

The easy out is a bottle of booze, which I know he would enjoy but odds are it just gets drank by someone else the night of the party anyway. Costco had these great cedar BBQ scrapers, but he already has one so that idea sunk. Any ideas?

I don't want to spend a ton as he has really stressed the 'no gifts' mantra and he is the kind of guy that would get mad at you for spending money on him versus just spending time with him. But I still want to get him something. I thought a gift certificate to a restaurant was a decent idea as well..

Any retired guys out there or serial backyard entertainers with a great idea that comes to mind?
