The USA was never going to broker any kind of deal involving Iran.

As for Saudia Arabia, it makes sense that they are broadening their ally group, as the USA is no longer as dependent on middle eastern oil. The USA is currently a net oil exporter. The oil they are importing is largely coming from us (Canada). US oil imports from SA are less than 1/4 of what they were at their peak.

It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out between Iran/SA. They cut ties 7 years ago. Even then, they were actively engaged in multiple proxy wars against each other. So resuming relations doesn't necessarily mean peace. it's obviously a massive win for the world if these two nations can stop their conflict.
