Cynical behaviour is the very reason that the GAA introduced the black card in Ireland.
Is it working? I follow Gaelic Games quite intensely and I would say Yes. But it has had a LOT of teething problems, particularly with lack of consistancy with refs in application of the rules. That is to be expected but it is getting better.
And regarding substitutions. A card counts as a substitution. Used up all your subs and get a black card? Tough merde. And I don't know on what planet players decide to go for a dive when they see their number up on the board. Never done it for a yellow why would they do it for a black?
Dives for me, should be a straight red, a fine and a suspension.
I hate to see them yellowed whilst a defender/goalie gets a red for a last man back clumsy challenge.
