I thought Uber is 30% less than taxi or so Uber says. My thought is, will Uber allow my family to ditch a second car?

I figure my second car got driver around 5000KM a year and is costing me $5K to run and in depreciation. If Uber is as good as advertised, I might be tempted to get rid of it to save money.
