Jose proved that he is not what this teams needs moving forward in the ALCS this year. At times, he looked like he was turning the corner the last month or so but he continually fell victim to trying to do things he simply no longer can do.
The last thing this teams needs is an overpriced 100 game per year DH that can't do much more than bat in the low 200's and draw the odd walk. Put that money to better use and bring in some versatile fielders that have the potential to break out in full time roles.
If you can sign EE for something less than insanity your money would be much better spent provided Jose is gone. This team can compete for another year or two with the infield and starting pitching depth it has. No need to through in the towel because one, maybe two guys walk.
