Essentially, he told Kim that he lied to Chuck about altering the document because he (Jimmy) was so shocked at how badly Chuck was taking the screw up (space blankets on the walls).

But when Chuck accused him in front of Kim and kim took his defence then in the car started punching him and was upset.. I took that as her acting in front of Chuck but actually knew it was true.
Maybe I am wrong though.
