Absolutely. The software it comes with is pretty good but several others are better. I'm using Batocera because it uses an Emulation Station frontend.
The OS goes on one card and the bios and rom files go on the other. You definitely want to use a better micro SD card than the one that comes with it because it's pretty sketchy.
