The exciting thing with him is that he values the draft, and he wants to build through the draft. The draft has always been the best day on the NHL calendar. The fact he is getting picking and not giving them away is great as well.
Under Sutter it felt like he couldn't be bothered, and was giving away picks, and we drafted poorly.
Feaster seemed to value the draft, but he also had a guy in his ear who had to be the smartest guy in the room.
Treliving while I believe he valued the draft, he didn't do a good job getting our scouts enough picks, and gave away picks like Sutter.
Obviously the situation for Conroy is a bit different, but going into the draft with extra picks, and having extra picks to look forward to in the future is exciting.

I'm excited to see Conroy armed with a full year of scouting heading into his 2nd draft as GM.
It will be interesting to see how he drafts with 8 picks in the first 4 rounds.
My semi educated guess? He's going very forward heavy through the whole thing.
