I agree. You want guys on your team that love hockey so much that they willingly embrace these opportunities.
I have no doubt that Huberdeau would rack up points in a bunch of low stakes, non contact games against inferior competition. But honestly that is probably counter productive to him learning to play the kind of hockey the Flames need from him.
I'd rather him focus on getting into the best shape possible coming into next year. That would actually help a little bit.
