The Dallas plan involves getting a little lucky but consistently having excellent scouting and drafting and then giving your scouts as many opportunities as they can to pick, especially earlier in the draft. Calgary’s drafting record since Sutter has been stellar (athletic ranked them as number 2 since 2007, only behind Dallas).. It’s going to be interesting to really see what these guys do over the next couple of years.
