I'll play Devils advocate here.
I feel the organization feels it's more beneficial for him to experience the pro life . The way you conduct yourself/ to watch games and how to practice the right way.
I'd argue at the kid being above a ppg and already a tweener the organization is investing in him early. The AHL schedule is 72 games and he has only played 40 with 42 points. The rest of his time has been with the big club. It's his first pro year to boot.
Conroy and Co clearly think him being around the big club is more beneficial than being stored way in the ahl as the limited time there already shows he Excels there instantly.
Coronato may be one of the examples that going to the nhl is better for development than ahl.
Many higher whl picks go this root but he was at Harvard and choose to come into the professional years much earlier than other college athletes
Let's not forget he made the team out of camp and not just a cup of coffee. I see him staying up as the Flames are going in all in on him.
