Another famous 'superstar kid' is in the Flames organization. Emilio Pettersen was a wunderkid too when he was much younger, and had to leave Norway since there was not enough legitimate competition for him in Norway. BTW, I think he has worked his way into being a legitimate prospect for this organization, and i was very impressed with how he showed no fear of attacking the net during preseason - one of the deserving players on the Wranglers who should get a look in the NHL at some point this season.
There is no certainty when it comes to Landon, but if I were to make a bet, I would say he is more likely to be the 'next great one' than not, simply because there aren't many holes (size, speed, iQ, hockey family, quality of competition, coaching, etc). Kid seems to be legit, rather than just 'mesmerizing'.
What is really interesting is that Calgary may be in a position to draft him if things aren't working out by then.
