It seems like almost no one is drafted, developed, and plays with the same team. There's tons of movement in the minor leagues. International signings can be here too.

Then there's the trades to put you over the hump. Give you that extra edge for a playoff push/run.

Then of course, free agency.

Look at the Rangers:

Free Agency:
Evolaldi
Gray
Heaney
Semien
Seager

Traded as a Prospect:
Lowe
Heim
Garcia
Sborz

Drafted and Developped:
Jung
Carter

Signed international and developed
Taveras
LeClerc

Traded for when already MLB:
Garver
Scherzer
Montgomery
Chapman

This is mostly from memory so I could be wrong one a few guys. However, overall it shows you need to have players from from all over to win.

The Angel's showed that you can have the best, hell literally two best, players in baseball and do diddly squat for years.
I really wish the Jays paid Semien and kept him. He was a big part of their offense being one of the best in baseball. And he was such a pro with the way he would practice and work out.
