For me, that show is Gilmore Girls. It seems like a sappy girly show that I wouldn't enjoy, but far from it. The character work is great and you become heavily invested in the character's fate. It's very enjoyable but is easy to digest. I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it.
Interesting. For me that would be Downton Abbey, for almost the same reasons.

And it was actually another show I gave up on for some unexplained reason.
