They can be cheap and over priced like pedego.
The owner of the company is a nice enough guy buy not an great system. I use to actually interact with him him on a daily bases as he was one of the engineers for Bionx but left a couple of years before they went belly up.
I would tell most people under that price just to add a BBS02 kit and a battery to her current bike she loves.
To get a good bike that's decent enough really should be closer to 3600 before tax .
