Not sure what criteria the above cities fail to meet to make the list.

I can also think of a bunch of cities in Brazil with 1 million-plus people that are not in this list.
Granted I haven’t been to all of those places but you know what? Honestly? I can say that looking at that list, I can see why Calgary outranks them outside of maybe a couple like Denver, Nashville or San Diego. The rest are not as good as Calgary. Calgary is actually pretty sweet when you sit back and think about all the things it has to offer.
