I didn't watch all the highlights, but that screen by Perry was perfect. That is about as close as you can get to the line without crossing it. I hate him (although I know I would love him on the Flames), but damn he is good at what he does. Talbot's foot was sticking out of the crease. The little nudge he gave it was small enough that it didn't really impede Talbot from making the save, but was probably enough to distract him mentally. Too small to notice in real time, and small enough that incidental is plausible.
Seriously, if you need to review the thing with a microscope, then it defeats the spirit of the rule. Same thing with the supposed "potential offside". We were also scored on when a similar thing happened in this playoffs and most people agreed that if you need to get a micrometer out and consult Olympic figure skating judges, it probably isn't a meaningful way of enforcing the rule.
