Pittsburgh needed only Crosby and Malkin to lead their rebuild into contention. Chicago, Kane and Toews. Edmonton get Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Yakupov and McDavid gift wrapped to them, run two out of town, turn RNH into who we know today as "The Tenderness" and continue to be inherently bad (outside of superhuman performances from McDavid). And of course Draisaitl (3rd), Puljujarvi (4th), and Nurse (7th), as if the former picks weren't enough to put together a semblance of a competent core.
It's quite obvious. They just need one final high pick and it will all fall into place and then it's not longer if, but how many. My guess is they win the next 14 of 16 Cups. Just math.
