don't want to be put in a position of talking down Monahan, BUT:
1) goals by a 21 year old count exactly the same as goals by a 24 year old.
2) Monahan really did not improve season over season 62 pts to 63 pts 31 goals to 27 goals. +8 to -6.
3) It is not unusual for a player to have a career year in his third year... I was the biggest Phanuef fan.... After his 2nd and 3rd years I thought that he would be a top 3-Dman in the league for the next 10 years and thought he was the Flames franchise player.
Turned out that his career year was his 3rd year , as a 22 year old.
