Not wrong about what? All he did was somehow insinuate that implementing safety checks was protectionist, and would lead to drink driving accidents. And then later her responded to a couple of comments with some non sequiturs.
Without digging in further, is it protectionist in some way? My reading seemed to suggest that cab drivers also had to submit to the same screening, and that it was a vote by the citizens of Austin.
