Captain Burton woke up. Or, he felt the sensation one has when waking up. A tired, heavy feeling, and slow to react. Something wasn't right, though. There was definitely a feeling of...emptiness to him. He slowly opened his eyes, and saw nothing.
Eventually, sounds and lights appeared. He heard voices, grunts, and sounds he couldn't identify. He saw lights turn into shapes, shapes turn into beings, beings turn into scenes. He couldn't understand what or why he was feeling this way. Was it still a dream?
As he...floated - as best as he could describe - in this place, a sense of not being alone became stronger. He was not by himself, or was he not himself? One of the lights floated towards him. It pulsed in a strange manner, and as it approached him, there played out a scene he began to recognize. It was his ship. It was the cockpit. The last thing he remembered was being there. What had happened? Through the pulsing, veiny looking imagery, he made out what had become of his ship, and realization set in when the image turned past a screen, and a reflection looked back on itself.
He was no longer himself...that much he could be sure of. He was detached from his body, or what he thought was still his body. Burton heard a voice getting louder. At first, it sounded like just another noise in the background, but it started to turn into words he could understand.
"Ssssssss....Lissssssssss...Lissstennnn...Listen.. .Listen...LISTEN."
The word kept coming at his form, and he couldn't plug ears he didn't have. It drilled into his conciousness, and now nothing else mattered.
It is now Day 2. With 16 alive, it takes 9 votes on any one player to hammer. It takes 6 votes to deadline lynch.
