Aside from all of the drama over the right way to banner that this announcement has stirred, I think there is some method towards massaging nieuwy into the gm position here. Maybe Burke has gotten the sense that joe's hesitancy to come to calgary was rooted in the way he left, and that the fanbase or city wouldn't welcome him.
