I'm sorry but after the announcement that the hobbit is going to be a trilogy I have personally decided that Peter Jackson, in my opinion, is not capable of properly delivering a condensed version of anything.
He had a perfectly fine ending after which he added another HALF HOUR of crap.
Maybe the lack of specific source material to follow would mean he would do a better job with this but I dunno.
I couldn't see Star Wars fitting into Christopher Nolans style, he'd be much better suited for the next Bond.
I know, lets give Jackson, Nolan and Tarantino a movie each. That way all of the directors with fan boys get a shot
