I did a thread search and couldn't find anything, so I thought I would make a list of my favorite films of 2009/what I think will be (should be) up for Best Picture in a few weeks. Here were my 5 favorite films, followed by the 5 that I think will receive an oscar nom.

1: The Hurt Locker
Awesome Iraq war film that gives the war genre a much needed facelift. Should win Best Picture, but it won't.

2: Moon
Independent Sci Fi film that is a must see. So good I watched it twice when I first saw it.

3: Inglorious Basterds
What more can you say? Tarantino's best since Pulp Fiction?

4: Up in the Air
Jason Reitman is awesome

5: Avatar
shoe in for Best picture? Visually stunning. Everyone but the Pope has seen it.

Honorable Mentions:
Precious (No, not the Gollum kind)
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans

My guess on the five films that will be nominated for best picture:
Avatar
Up in the Air
Inglorious Basterds
The Hurt Locker
Precious

All IMO. Anyone else?
