The first thing I want to say is that I am not a racist - if any of you knew me you would agree. My company has done work with all races, all over the world and I have great business/personal relationships with essentially everyone I come in contact with.
Now, what I am eluding to in terms of the "First Nations People" is that there is a serious problem throughout Canada and the United States. Sugarcoat it all you want...the problem is there and is not going away until the government steps in and does something about it.
I know my father's "friends" could have been any race. I am not too naive to say that, but it wasn't - these were 3 messed up, Lysol drinking, beligerent natives who did this. It was 3 PM in the afternoon while he was bending over cleaning his lawnmower.
I do not blame these individuals, I blame the government and their agencies for the many decades of permitting this problem to get out of hand.
My 90% comment was from personal experience. I have spent summers in Kenora, Ontario where you cannot even get into the entrance to their mall because their are dozens of natives passed out in front from a big party they had they night before. I am talking about friends of mine in law enforcement and medical services, that have told terrible stories of neglect and criminal activities that occur daily on reserves all over Canada. I am talking about downtown Chilliwack, BC where I will not permit my wife or children to go shopping because the natives are so abundant and bothersome that people feel unsafe. I am talking about driving 2 hours south of Calgary through the Reserve by Pincher Creek. It looks like Bagdad after the war. I am talking about when the police came yesterday to my father's house, he hopped in a police car and they went from Anderson Station to Southland Station and woke up over 60 passed out, drunk natives sleeping under trees - this was 6PM at night.
I have concerns with Asian Gangs, White Supremacy, H-A's, and even white kids who take pick axes to house parties so I am not singling out the Native community. Native Pride is fine - let's not just sweep everything under the rug and pretend that this label changes everything.
This is Canada for crying out loud! Racists? No, I just want something done about this serious problem in Canada. It embarrasing! My dad is tough and will be alright, but what about the other 2 victims that night, a couple of my Dad's area neighbours?? What if they are not? What if one of them was your 78 year old grandmother?- would you have a problem with them then?? What's it going to take? Canada needs to wake up and do something about this problem!!!
