I have an Acer Aspire 5741-5193 laptop that I purchased from Best Buy in August 2010. About a year ago, the screen started to wobble, probably from opening and closing it so many times. However, this had also happened on my old laptop, so I let it go without worry. Anyways, about a week ago it became really loose so I tried to minimize the number of times I opened and closed my screen. This afternoon, I had to close it to save battery since I did not have my charger on me. About an hour later, I opened up my laptop and I heard this "snap". I looked and the screen hinge had become detached from the laptop itself. So now every time I lift up my screen, it picks up a corner of the faceplate because it was initially missing a screw. (The screen still works fine.) However, the thread is stripped making it impossible to screw back together.

I tried looking online for help but most guides only tell me how to tighten the hinges so it doesn't shake as much. I think this is much more serious than that. Do you think it's possible to fix this myself or should I take it in?

Never mind that Jason Myers, president of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Association, disagreed with this argument back when Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty first made it in February.

“Frankly, the big problem over the last three or four years has not been the high dollar because companies can adjust to (it),” Myers told the Globe and Mail. “The big problem has been the collapse of demand in the United States, which is our major market.”

The kitchen sink has backed up. I suspect the clog is from waste that has gone through the garberator.
The way the basement was developed, i dont have access to the trap in the floor near this drain. However, the drain pipe coming down from the sink into the basement floor was already cut and reconnected so this gives me access. Ive run a 25 foot snake and havent encountered any resistance so Im assuming the clog is further than 25ft.

What options do i have? Id prefer to try something myself before calling a plumber? Is there anywhere i can buy a snake longer than 25 feet? Or should i rent from home depot? Id prefer to buy in case this happens again.
Also wondering if i should be worried about something else going on? House is from the 60s here in calgary.
Any suggestions?
