I was just thinking of the various restaurants around the city, and though some of them may be average, sometimes, some of them have one really great thing that they do. So here's a thread to list some of the really good food we've had lately, and where to get it.

My last great experience was yesterday. After an evening stroll, I went into this place called The Purple Perk down on 4th Ave SW. I tried their ginger cookie, and it was by far, the best ginger cookie I've ever had. It's about the size of a CD, about three quarters of an inch thick, and the center is loaded with this icing/cream that made it outta this world. Their home made chips were also pretty damn good!

I hope someone can help me out... My wife and I have an 8 week old son and he doesn't have any Flames things yet. I live in Thunder Bay Ontario and there really aren't too many Flames fans out this way, most of my friends and family are leafs fans. When we had our son, one of my friends bought us a leafs onesie and I threw it in the garbage without hesitating. I can't find a good website to get any cool Flames stuff for my little guy. I did find a really cool onesie on ebay that said "I'm told I'm a Flames Fan" but it won't let me order it because I live in Canada....

Just hope someone can help me out with this so we can get our son in some Flames gear before someone actually sneaks another teams stuff on him. My wifes family is mostly all from Montreal and they almost got him in a canadians jersey... I actually got pretty mad at them.

Since the rebuild has started, the Flames are going with mostly youth and my sone Alex would be the perfect addition to the Flames! Please help us out!

Thanks,

We're going to China and I was wondering how their censorship of online activity will impair my ability to keep in touch with the outside world. I think email is OK (I think they scan for unacceptable words), but I believe that it will be difficult or impossible to properly use google or news sites.

To anyone who has been there or knows, what can I expect?

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings and city officials on Wednesday announced a $650 million plan for a new arena development for the NHL team in Detroit's downtown entertainment and sports district.
Plans for the 18,000-seat arena were announced Wednesday at a meeting of economic development officials to approve the deal. Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch has long said he wanted a replacement for the 32-year-old Joe Louis Arena.
The Red Wings said there will be $367 million in private investment and $283 million in public funds in the complex, which would also include residential, retail and office space. Developers said the public money would come from existing economic development funds and requires no new taxes or funds from the cash-strapped city, which is the largest in the country under state financial oversight.
The restructuring plan received support from Michigan Gov.
