Well, to bring on a plane, yes. ;)

But once I think about it, I've heard that they are, and I haven't seen them for sale in stores. Perhaps they truly are?

I read that in Canada you are not allowed to sell the ones with elongated tips...here it just say they are illegal

The Old lawndarts with the pointed, weighted metal edge are illeagal - some kids died taking one in the back of the head.

You can be lawn darts with rounded, weighted ends now. Not as cool though.

I still use my metal pointed ones, what types of punishment are there for using them?

None that I know of - I don't believe it is illeagal to use them - they just can't be sold anymore.
