With the summer Olys on the way, we are about to get our butts handed to us on the international sporting stage. William Houston from the globe mentions some of the problems in this here article. (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20040805.wxtruth0806/BNStory/Sports/)

Among them is the lack of funding and strategy behind Sport Canada. “Forget about the high-tech equipment,” coach Milt Ottey said. “I'd just like to have equipment.”

If you were to develop a strategy for winter and summer, where would you put the focus. Personally, I like Canada's idea of focussing on the winter games, as we have the infrastructure to develop world class winter athletes in the country. Since 1967, we haven't hosted a summer games, so we have no summer infrastructure. It would be good to see Canada have a strong track and swimming team again.
